What Just Happened?

After vowing to not let the perfect be the enemy of the good, I’ve “launched” my website…off it goes out to the world at large, after standing at the edge hoping that I haven’t made any major faux pas! It’s a reminder that our own desire to be “perfect” will get in the way of getting anything done. As an artist of color, it’s easy to fall into the idea that we should follow whatever dominant narrative is du jour. Super grateful to all the literary influences that have helped me find my artistic voice, not limited to but including: James Baldwin, Maya Angelou, Octavia Butler , and Toni Morrison. Look forward to seeing more of their voices represented in art from Mahogany Snow Creations!
